The search is on for a poet to represent Stoke-on-Trent
Could you be the first Stoke-on-Trent Poet Laureate?
Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Stoke-on-Trent Libraries are looking to appoint the first Stoke-on-Trent Poet Laureate. This honorary post is for an initial two-year tenure, and provides an exciting opportunity for a local poet to raise the profile of poetry in Stoke-on-Trent.
To apply, please submit the following:
- Three original poems of 30 lines or less. One poem must be about Stoke-on-Trent
- A statement of up to 500 words stating why you would like to be Stoke-on-Trent Poet Laureate, what you would bring to the role, and ideas for what you might do during your tenure
- A writing CV (max. one page) detailing relevant experience
Entry closes at midnight on 31 January 2018
Selection day will take place on Saturday 24 March 2018 - candidates should be available for this date.
