It's easy to assume that if you love the work of a particular poet, then everybody else knows about him or her. I had taken it for granted that everyone had heard of Pablo Neruda, but the other day I came across someone who had never heard of him, so I thought immediately that his poems would make a fine recommendation.
Neruda was a Chilean poet who achieved acclaim before he was 20. Although he wrote poems on various themes and in different styles, he's probably best known for his love poetry; his poems run through the film Il Postino, which is well worth seeing. My favourite poem is Tonight I can write... but it's a bit sad! You can find lots of Neruda's poems online.
